Dark brown calf over pasteboards, fillet panel with corner fleurons and centrepiece in blind, now rather rubbed. Blind fillets to the edges. Holes at fore-edge for ties. Rebacked and repaired extensively (s. xx).

Pembroke College, Cambridge ('Cantab. Aulae Pemb.' on title-page, appended after Field's cursive signature). 

And below a motto: ‘Omne nimium vertitur in vitium’.
