Only one leaf survives from this manuscript and section of that are illegible, one part because of abrasion and being left open to the elements, another because it is pasted over by paper. Comparison with other manuscripts suggests that the Dits was considered a text worthy of copying on its own, sometimes with short additions following (see, e.g., London: British Library, MS. Royal 19 B IV; Oxford: Bodleian, MS. Rawl. 537; Paris: BnF, MSS naf 10404 and 10641 MS. Philadelphia: Free Library, MS. Lewis E 209, but cf Paris: BnF, MS. fr. 12440 etc). It may, then, be that this folio was from early in the manuscript but there is no page number or leaf signature to confirm this hypothesis.
